AntAntWeb has information about, and photographs of, many of the approximately 10,000 known species of ants.  It currently focuses on species from the Nearctic and Malagasy biogeographic regions, and the ant genera of the world, but there are plans to grow the site to cover every known species of ant.

butterflyUsing a high-speed camera that takes more than 1,000 frames per second Dr Andrew Mountcastle has captured amazing footage of insects in flight. 

The high-speed videos slow down the insects’ movement during take-off, in flight, and when landing.  His films include ladybirds, bees, and a dragonfly making a lucky escape from a frog.
