Microsoft are developing “Microsoft Academic Search“, their rival to Google Scholar. At the moment, this search engine concentrates on academic material from the fields of chemistry, computer science, engineering, maths and physics, but they plan to spread into other areas. In addition to searching for articles, Microsoft Academic Search also includes lots of additional information such as author profiles, timelines, and co-author information.
If you are a fan of Google Scholar and are using it off-campus, you can set it up to automatically use the UWS Library ejournal subscriptions. (This feature isn’t yet available in Microsoft Academic Search.)
